Perimeter reports what your phone observed—not whether a person or place is safe.

Bluetooth devices can be silent. iOS controls background delivery. Some cameras and microphones are offline, wired, cellular, shielded, or unsupported. Perimeter may miss devices, and a quiet result is never proof that nothing is there.

What Perimeter can do is direct your attention, make supported observations easier to understand, and preserve useful context for your next decision.

Can Perimeter tell whether smart glasses are recording?+

No. Perimeter can recognize supported Bluetooth signals when they are available, but a match does not reveal whether a device is recording, who owns it, or why it is nearby. Some glasses may advertise only during power-on, pairing, or case-open events and may be silent while connected.

How does Perimeter decide that a tracker may be following me?+

A tracker seen once is common. Perimeter looks for repeated sightings across time, meaningful movement, and different places. It also considers whether the device is familiar and how confidently rotating Bluetooth observations can be linked.

Can it find every hidden camera or microphone?+

No phone app can. A Perimeter sweep combines supported Bluetooth observations, local-network checks, guided reflection or infrared checks, reference photos, and a physical checklist. Offline, wired, cellular, shielded, silent, or unsupported devices may remain invisible.

Does Perimeter identify a tracker’s owner?+

No. Perimeter documents technical observations and may help you locate a supported signal, but it does not identify an owner or establish intent. A physically found tracker may contain information that the manufacturer or law enforcement can use through their own processes.

Will it keep working when the app is in the background?+

Background awareness remains active when iOS permits, but it is slower and less complete than scanning with the app open. Force-quitting the app, disabling Bluetooth, or denying required permissions can interrupt awareness.

What happens to my observations and location?+

Core classification and history are designed to remain local by default. No account is required for core use. Perimeter does not sell detection, Bluetooth, or location data, and permissions are requested only when they support a feature you choose.
