Perimeter Support
Clear help for uncertain signals.
Start with the checks below. Perimeter reports technical observations and patterns; it is not an emergency service.
Permissions
Open iPhone Settings, find Perimeter, and confirm the permission required by the feature you are using. Bluetooth supports nearby-signal observations, Notifications supports alerts, Local Network supports selected network checks, and Location may support movement context when you choose that feature.
Bluetooth
Confirm Bluetooth is on, move closer to the area you want to review, and open Deep Scan. Some devices advertise only at certain times, while connected, silent, or unsupported devices may not appear.
Notifications
In Settings, confirm notifications are allowed for Perimeter and that the desired alert styles are enabled. Focus modes and notification summaries may delay how an alert is presented.
Background awareness
iOS may wake Perimeter for supported Bluetooth events in the background, but background awareness is slower and less complete than an open Deep Scan. Do not rely on it as a constant real-time monitor.
Supported devices
An unfamiliar device may be nearby without being supported or classifiable. A supported smart-glasses signal may indicate that a compatible model is nearby; it does not reveal recording status or identity.
False positives and false negatives
Wireless environments are noisy. Ordinary devices may resemble relevant signals, and relevant devices may remain silent or unavailable. Review the confidence, timing, and evidence instead of treating one observation as proof.
Saved observations
Review saved observations from Perimeter’s history. Use the observation’s menu to remove it when that control is available in your app version. Removing app data or the app itself may also remove locally stored history.
Incorrect classifications
When reporting a suspected incorrect classification, include the Perimeter app version, iPhone model, iOS version, category shown, and a screenshot with personal details removed. Do not send names, precise location history, or information about bystanders.
